Q. My mother has diverticulitis and has been told she cannot have popcorn. She read somewhere that hulless popcorn is safe for her to eat. Is this true? Thank you for your help.

A. It really depends on what her Dr. might recommend. There actually is no such thing as "hulless Popcorn". The hull is the seed, and without the seed, you don't have a popcorn kernal. People refer to smaller kernal popcorn as hulless because the seed itself is so small and tender that you don't have as crunchy of a hull as you would with regular popcorn. I would strongly suggest that your mother talk to her Dr. before eating the popcorn, but if she can, we offer Baby Rice Pocpcorn. This is the smallest kernal popcorn we carry. You can find it in our online store under specialty popcorn. It comes in a variety of sizes and also comes in microwave packets.
